Capricorn Caves are located 23kms north of Rockhampton off Highway 1. These spectacular caves are a unique system of above-ground caves in a limestone ridge.
Very informative tour.
This is the tour we did.
Steve enters the big hole in the ground!
Looking back.
How beautiful is that?
A ‘caving’ tour goes through the little tunnels and passages. The people on it with only head torches for light. Not the tour we did!!
That’s one of those narrow entrances the other tour goes through.
Rare ferns found on the walls just outside these caves.
Very well presented attraction.
Lunch stop.
We followed Hedlow Creek to Lake Mary.
Fence crossing!
We were heading somewhere between those hills.
The lake was covered in so many different types of birds.
See all the birds on the lake?
Just opposite Lake Mary the birds are thick in Hedlow Creek too.
