Lake Nuga Nuga was formed about 160 years ago when the Brown River became blocked – natural causes, not man-made. It’s a large lake providing valuable habitat for water birds in an otherwise arid sandstone landscape.
Unlimited camping sites available.
Dead trees as a result of the lake formation.
Despite the arid landscape it is starkly beautiful.
Always up for a cuppa.
Off to explore.
Pretty big lake, as you can see.
Don’t fall out Steve! It’s hard to get the horizon level when you’re turning around in a kayak!
Denise, taking a break.
Back to camp for a well-earned wine o’clock.
The end of a wonderful day.
